REASON Extrait de Parfum
An olfactory expression of the value of time. Created through a revolutionary process: a double infusion with sandalwood and handcrafted oak barrels.
Each fragrance is highly concentrated, containing 30% pure perfume oils, and has undergone a meticulous six-month maturation process, including a double infusion with sandalwood flakes and oak barrels, for a profound and layered olfactory experience. Housed in a new bottle – the first new design introduced by Amouage in 15 years – the Essences represent the pinnacle of olfactory craftsmanship.
Reasons by Bertrand Duchaufour
Cause and effect. Echoes of thought. A sequence of events.
In its early stages, Reasons is rather unassuming: its nutty opening presents a comforting yet perhaps surprisingly understated warmth. But within moments, the scent grows, taking on an increasingly grand form. The partly herbaceous and partly fruity personality of davana creates layer upon layer of depth and complexity. Finally, the smoky woodiness of palo santo introduces a resonant, grounding earthiness, rooting the whole in a sense of harmonious and timeless stability.
With tremendous complexity and gravitas, Reasons conveys the idea that while the past may be gone, its effects live on forever, supporting the present and imbuing it with meaning, depth, and value.

Frequently Asked Questions
The different concentrations indicate the percentage of fragrant oils present in the fragrance. In general, Extrait de Parfum is the most intense and long-lasting version, followed by Eau de Parfum and Eau de Toilette, which is lighter and fresher.
The longevity of a fragrance depends on the perfume's concentration, olfactory composition, and skin type. On average, an Eau de Parfum can last from 6 to 8 hours, while an Extrait de Parfum can last even longer.
To preserve its quality, it is advisable to store perfume away from direct light, heat sources, and temperature fluctuations. The ideal place is cool, dry, and protected from light.
Many contemporary fragrances are designed to be worn freely by anyone. In artistic perfumery, compositions do not follow rigid gender categories but are designed to adapt to the personality and skin of the wearer.
